{"id":3747,"date":"2019-07-09T09:44:29","date_gmt":"2019-07-09T09:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.srr-foundation.org\/?p=3747"},"modified":"2019-07-09T09:44:29","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T09:44:29","slug":"difference-in-a-trust-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.srr-foundation.org\/?p=3747","title":{"rendered":"Difference in a Trust &#038; Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear Member,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My company is desirous to open a trust \/ foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objective will be to procure and pass on grants\/donations\nto women who are engaged in the manufacture of carpets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This foundation will then procure those carpets and sell them to\nmy parent company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My question is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What is the difference between Trust and foundation and which\nwould be suitable for the proposed activities?<\/li><li>Can a trust or foundation do the above mentioned activities?<\/li><li>What will be requirements of opening a trust and foundation\nrespectively? Are there any special areas in India where it is beneficial to\nopen a Trust or foundation (Tax concessions, ease of obtaining grants)<\/li><li>From a statutory prospective what kind of statutory compliances\nwill be needed to be done by my company ( Eg applicability of Contract Labour\nAct, MW Act, etc)<\/li><li>Finally we want to brand the produce of the carpets manufactured\nby the women such that it should promote the brand image of my parent\ncompany&nbsp; and also highlight the CSR activities being done by my company\nthrough the trust.
