Clarification on renewal of 12AA & 80G

Dear Sir,

It was proposed in the budget about re registrations of NGO’s under 12AA & renewals of 80G. Is there any guideline released by Income tax Dept in this reg

    Well Finance Act 2020 has been passed, as per the same, both 12AA & S.80G renewals should be undertaken before 31st August 2020. Clauses 10 & 33 of Finance Act 2020 cover re-validation & renewal of these certificates respectively. Clause 10 says, that this clause will become effective from 1st June 2020 and it goes on to say that application should be made within 3 months. Something similar is mentioned under Clause 33 for S.80G. However presently the relevant Application Forms are still awaited.

      Income Tax Deptt has tweeted about extension of due date for applying for re registration under sections 12AB and 80G till it was 1s 1st October. Earlier it was 1st June.

    Hi Abhijeet ji

    However the due date to make the application for getting re- registration under section 12AB and 80G is 31st August 2020 however income tax department has not come up with any guidelines yet. Just wait for some more time, it’s delaying due to COVID 2019. Don’t worry they will provide us with sufficient time.
