Giving a final chance, the Government has decided to ask more than 11000 NGOs who’s FCRA was not renewed since their applications were not filed online by 30th June to submit fresh application for the renewal of FCRA Registration.
The FCRA department is sending emails and in case mobile number is available, SMS to all these NGOs to provide the necessary documents along with complete application to home ministry to get their registration, granted under the Foreign Contribution Registration Act (FCRA), renewed.
A total of 11,319 NGOs lost their foreign funding licence as they failed to renew their registration within stipulated deadline of June 30 this year.
After the Centre’s decision to cancel registration of these NGOs, the number of outfits permitted to receive foreign funding has come down to around 19,000. Till two years ago, the country had around 42,500 FCRA-registered NGOs.
However details how NGOs should approach the Government are still awaited.

We are handling a multi project trust. The FCRA registration date was 05th Dec’11, so the expiry date is 05th December 2016.Since it is a multi year project we did offline renewal before one year prior to the expiry. We tried online but some website issues came up.We even missed to file it before 6 months prior to the expiry. Later in September a show cause notice was received by us, so we replied to them with our justification and in October we filed the renewal online. Now the status is “You have submitted your application to MHA”. We tried to get them on phone but did not work. Currently we have shot a mail to FCRA Support Centre and they replied that they’ll take it in response asap.
Please guide us on whether we can continue to receive the funds even after expiry of the registration.

as per your direction of FCRA people we are trying to up load the letter of justification in the Upload Documents option. but the upload document option is not accepting to upload the letter of our justification…..moreover no option in the FC 3 page justification page upload…even if we click on any of the given option on the webpage…”your application already submitted to the ministry”
when we gave msg to support people their response is “In reference to your query please upload it in option “Other” but that option not available in the FC-3 page
we are eagerly awaiting for your kind response … how to upload the our justification letter.
I Have a query, That we have not submitted Annual return for 2014-15 now i want to submit it. online but when i log in it does not show F.Y. 2014-15. It is showing only 2015-16. can i send it by hard copy. plz give me suggestion

Latest Update : FCRA Dept has now come up with extension of 4 months (upto 28th Feb 2017) for organisations which had not filed their FCRA Renewal application online. They have been given one last chance to now file this renewal application using FCRA online services ( http://www.fcraonline.nic.in ). However one caveat that the FCRA Dept has imposed is that all the organisations applying must have filed their previous annual returns.

dear sir
we have not submitted renewal for fcra before june , but after the remineder from home ministry . we have submitted the renewal application on dt 16 9 2016 on line with rs 500 online fees , and in application status it shows that its already submited. in the iatest list of fcra of 11340 ngo list it came as not submitted and it is given time to submit renewal application before february with reason of delay in submitting renewal applications . sir advise in this regards . b n rao
Please file renewal application online. giving reason that renewal application was filed on 16-9-2016 (provide evidence) of the same. Hope you are upto date with annual return filing.
