We had applied for the Renewal of FCRA registration on 7th May. So far there is no update. Validity is ending in Oct. What are the experiences of other NGOs in this regard?

Dear Sir,
We had applied for the Renewal of FCRA registration on 8th April. So far board Members verification has been completed last week of August . Validity is ending in 31st Oct 2021. If we haven’t receive any communication from FCRA till 31st Oct 2021. We can use the unutilized fund from our utilization account.

The IB called us 20 minutes they reach our organization Antyodaya Chetana Mandal,ACM. Asked for finance,program and FCRA documents, verified,collected hard copies and contacted Society members to know more about activities of the organization. The IB inspector and a Sub inspector joined the visit just after the letter from FCRAwing reached our district.

This is really important, since many persons are feeling edgy as not knowing what to expect. Our understanding of the process is also similar to what most particpants have experienced. Once the renewal application is filed. FCRA Dept will refer the file to IB Dept for inspection. IB Dept will mobilise their resources in different states to conduct the inspection. Inspectors generally call HO or CEO or some other Trustee to arrange for a visit to the address as given by the FCRA Dept. (Sometimes they will insist on visiting the RO though your main office may be elsewhere. Make arrangement to allow them visit to that address, but during interaction request them to visit your main office). They will go through various documents to prepare their reports. Generally our experience is that they want to ensure that the applicant is a genuine organisation and undertaking good work.
Inspectors generally also call different Trustees on their phone to confirm their antecedents as mentioned in the application.
We have not received any call from IB or CID so far though our application was made in september2020 and compliance of all formalities as they asked for from time to time including opening of bank act with state bank . Our extended validity of renewal by general notification is expiring on 30 th September 2021.
When our senior citizen representative after spending 61/2 hours was allowed to talk on phone from their receiption table they replied wait for one month Ho Jayega It is now more than a month . Our funds for ongoing project are stuck up. We don’t know what is solution? Does any one has solution.

From IB/CID call first to head of organization and trusty after that they will enquire your activity after that they submit their report to home ministry and after that the process of renewal certificate start
They have begun the process. We applied in April, and about a month or six weeks ago they called and gave a list of documents that they wanted sent to them. About three weeks after we sent all the documents, we decided to call them – the person asking for the dox had done so on whatsapp so the number was available – and they said they had finished their part of the inquiry, sent the dox to ‘headquarters’ and that if HQ felt it necessary they would do a field visit after alerting us. Meanwhile we have prepared paper files of all possible papers they could require for the field visit – they said things had been a bit delayed at their end for some reasons. Apparently they do not visit everyone, but there are a number of ngos who have been visited and others whose board members have been contacted. So they are doing something, but it’s slow.
We are also experiencing same way We applied in September 2020 as renewal was due on After opening bank account in May 2021 and complying with all formalities once again in June 2021 there is no response from department either to our mails or phone callsOur renewal expiry is September What is the solution?

Same here. It’s under process. not to worry.
same position is with us. we are still waiting. wait and wait till mid of October
Please expect a call from IB/CID persons to you and your governing board members any time now. We had applied in April last week and our field verification done during first week of August. On your portal at FCRA , status should be showing Under Process.
Is the IB audit done at your office. Once this is done then only we can find the future status.
