Income Tax Dept has issued Income Tax (Sixth Amendment) Rules 2021. Vide these amendment rules, it has inserted new Rule 18AB. The Rule basically covers issues relating to different Forms to be filled up for S.80G donations.

Form 10BD, is a form which requires complete information about donors & donations received under S.80G(5) and S.35(1A). This is to be filled up by the entity receiving donation and has to be electronically updated on the website. Last date for filing this Form is 31st May after the completion of the Financial Year. Since the Form is applicable for first time to FY 2021-22, last would be 31st May 2022.

Similarly Form 10BE is required to be issued to the donor by the entity receiving donations. Even details of this form are to be completed online. Last date for this also is 31st May 2022. However the Dept has proposed that the details once uploaded by the entity, then electronic certificate can be downloaded by the donor from the website. So the Dept has proposed to make the entire architecture of Form 10BD & Form 10BE electronical. However presently these details are not available online. If a donor insists on receiving donor certificate, either a NGO can continue to issue old S.80G receipts or issue a receipt using the PDF format of Form 10BE.
